The magic and wonder of deep winter snow will delight and entertain everyone in this beautiful and intriguing, mostly wordless, picture book that is soon to become a classic!
It snowed all night long. It snowed so much that when two children awake in the morning and want to go outside to play, a shovel isn't even close to being enough. It's SO MUCH SNOW!AWARD

On a pitch-dark night, children set off to play. What kind of playground awaits them? A nighttime playground full of wonder, where imagination turns into extraordinary play equipment.

A child sets out on a journey to find light in the dark night. Even without knowing the shape of the buildings, we imagine them through the shapes of their windows. Surrounded by illusions, the child loses the way. What is real, and how can it be found?AWARD

Imagining how the city might appear through the eyes of a dandelion, the work dreams of solidarity. By printing and layering CMYK primary colors separately, it seeks to reveal invisible components, aligning the process with its theme of marginalized and overlooked beings.Award

하얀 개(A White Dog) Dalgrim publisher, South Korea, 2023
White Dog tells the story of a brave and adventurous white dog who sets out on a journey to find a friend—confident in action, yet awkward in forming relationships. Small in size but rich in depth, the book takes the form of a flipbook, using a minimal palette of black, white, and pink to convey both warmth and quiet darkness. Through encounters with characters that seem similar yet turn out to be different, the white dog repeatedly questions identity, belonging, and connection. With its gift-like pink case, pure white cover, and a story that is both humorous and tender, White Dog is a gentle yet powerful offering from Hyunmin Park—an invitation to reflect on difference, companionship, and what it truly means to find a friend.

a Story Told Through Images and ColorHyunmin Park is an artist who designs the way readers see both inside and beyond the picture book. Actively engaging with the physicality of the book, his works have continually surprised readers through playful use of space, shifts in perspective, and reflections on relationships. In his latest work, Park presents a fluid, long-form narrative rich in visual rhythm. How to Become a True Friend features Yeti, a legendary creature, and poses a powerful question about diversity and coexistence. Set against the spectacular backdrop of snowy mountains, the story unfolds like a film, depicting an unfamiliar being gradually becoming a friend. Park’s distinctive imagery—created through a balance of color and empty space—invites readers’ imagination to expand beyond the page. The “blank spaces” transform into the Yeti, steep mountain ranges, snowstorms, and night scenes. Using only three glossy spot colors—purple, magenta, and green—the book offers a unique aesthetic experience found only in print. The story begins as Eugene, head of the Yeti Research Institute, crosses the mountains on a mission to capture a Yeti and turn it into a “friend of humans.” What follows is a sharp black comedy that exposes the hypocrisy of civilization: while humans claim friendship with nature, they attempt to control, tame, and isolate it in the name of science and reason. As the young Yeti is taken into human society, the story asks an unsettling question—who is truly the savage?Hope emerges through Eugene’s gradual change. By spending time with the Yeti and facing the possibility of loss, he learns what it truly means to care for another being. How to Become a True Friend ultimately delivers a quiet but profound message: true friendship begins with respecting others as they are, and meeting them eye to eye.AWARD

Adapted from a Vietnamese folktale, this book tells a story about nature suffering from waste and the precious value of water. It was also produced as a stage play. Reflecting its environmental message, the book is printed on eco-friendly paper made from recycled sugarcane byproducts, which is biodegradable and free of wood pulp.

Using Real Kraft Paper to Showcase Texture in Picture Books
This picture book is uniquely crafted using real kraft paper, allowing readers to directly experience the texture and feel of the material. By integrating the natural qualities of kraft paper, the illustrations come alive with an authentic, tactile dimension. This approach not only enhances the visual appeal but also engages the reader’s sense of touch, making the storytelling experience more immersive. The rough, earthy texture of the kraft paper adds a rustic charm and depth, perfectly complementing the narrative and bringing a new layer of sensory interaction to the world of picture books.
